Job Description

SoftwarePropulsion & Climate Labs is Volvo Cars’ Centre for testing of propulsion systems, in complete vehicle as well as in component form. To meet the future, we need to utilize state of the art methods to test and verify next generation cars in an efficient and correct manner.
We support propulsion test facilities for vehicles, drivelines, electric motors, batteries, transmissions and combustion engines, as well as aerodynamic- and climatic wind tunnel testing. Our work consists of software preparation of testing, test automation, processing- and handling of measurement data and project initiation and -participation.

You will plan and manage AVL Puma development activities. You will be responsible for development, maintenance and implementation of new features and methods in our propulsion test cells. You will implement the software setup in test cell control systems and conduct problem solving investigations when required. You will be our expert regarding questions from users and plan and manage activities to bring out new functionality.
You will also get the chance to be involved in architecturally sound software decisions aiding future development and maintenance of our software suite. You will develop your competence by participating in development and specification of test methods.

 

This is a 6 month temporary assignment where your ability to help others get up and running is important

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or equal experience
  • Electric- and combustion propulsion systems knowledge
  • Extensive experience with the software AVL Puma
  • Knowledge in networks, protocols and control systems
  • Experience from programming and interface design
  • Knowledge of measurement systems
