Expert Java Developer – Backend Architecture & Customer Migration

Are you an experienced Java developer who enjoys solving complex architectural challenges while staying hands-on? This assignment focuses on building reliable backend services for a customer migration programme, where accurate identification, stack assignment, and application routing are essential throughout the transition.

You will design Java/Spring Boot REST APIs, develop extensible identification and lookup mechanisms, implement batch processing, and build services that track migration status and support routing between application stacks. You will also provide strategic technical direction, guide architectural decisions, and collaborate with frontend, DevOps, architecture, product, and migration teams.

Must-have: Strong Java 10+, Spring Boot/Framework, REST and microservices, JPA/Hibernate, SQL, batch processing, lookup/routing design, OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect/JWT, automated testing, Maven/Gradle, Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native deployment, observability, and strong architectural decision-making skills.

Nice to have: Large-scale migrations, coexistence of old and new stacks, identifier mapping, migration-state management, Kafka, Redis, Azure/AWS, API gateways, and high-volume batch processing.
