OT/IT Machine Network Specialist
Job Description
The OT/IT Machine Network Specialist is a pivotal member of our technology group, responsible for the design, implementation, security, and maintenance of machine networks across our portfolio. You will bridge the gap be-tween industrial automation systems and enterprise IT infrastructure, ensuring robust, reliability, and secure communication from the cooling system and the end customer environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Network Architecture & Design: Design industrial network topologies, integrating rogrammable logic con-trollers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), SCADA, DCS, and enterprise IT systems for optimal per-formance and future scalability.
• Implementation: Deploy, configure, and commission machine networks, switches, routers, firewalls, and in-dustrial gateways, following best practices, customer requirements and compliance standards.
• Security: Develop and enforce security policies for machine networks, including segmentation, access con-trol, monitoring, and threat detection, to safeguard operations from cyber and physical risks.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose, resolve, and document network incidents or outages; provide hands-on assistance to operations and IT teams during planned and unplanned events.
• Lifecycle Management: Maintain up-to-date documentation, perform regular system reviews, and plan for hardware and software upgrades to ensure long-term stability and compliance.
• Collaboration & Communication: Liaise with engineering, production, IT, and external vendors to ensure seamless network integration, project delivery, and knowledge sharing.
• Compliance & Standards: Adhere to industry-specific regulations (e.g., IEC61850-3, EU Directives, IEC 62443, NIST/NIST2, ISO 27001), support audits, and embed best practices for industrial cybersecurity and reliability.
• Continuous Improvement: Research, recommend, and implement new tools, technologies, and processes to enhance network performance, monitoring, and resilience.

TopSkills
• You hold a post-secondary education or a technical qualification and have extensive experience in a rele-vant profession. Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electri-cal/Electronic Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years’ experience supporting industrial machine networks, with demonstrated success in both OT and IT environments in relevant industries Substations, Powerplants, machine manufacturing, process industry, or water and purification plants, including several years in project operations.
• Strong knowledge of industrial protocols (e.g., IEC61850, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, Profibus, DNP3, HART).
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Layer 2 and Layer 3 network devices, VLANs, NAT, and rout-ing in industrial contexts.
• Expert knowledge of concepts like, Redbox, PRP, MRP.
• Familiarity with industrial automation hardware: PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and secure remote access.
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (Wireshark, NetFlow, SNMP, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, network diagrams, and technical schematics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• English proficiency required; Swedish are a highly search for asset.
