We are undertaking a significant industrial collaboration as they merge their combustion engine operations into a stand-alone business in order to establish a new global supplier that will seek to develop next-generation combustion engines and hybrid powertrains.
The gradual electrification of the automotive industry means there will be significant ongoing demand for efficient hybrid powertrains alongside fully electric offerings. Hybrid cars need the best internal combustion engines. This new unit will have the resources, scale and expertise to develop these powertrains.
The new business combustion engine operations, including research and development, procurement, manufacturing, IT, HR and finance functions. The section is responsible for the combustion engine control and diagnostics software, and the calibration of this, in hybrid powertrains. We lead the development for controls and diagnostics with significant parts of in-house development. We launch hundreds of variants of production files every year and improve our software development process continuously to do that in high quality. We are now looking for ambitious and open-minded Calibration leader that shall be the project leader for one of our engine control projects.
You would be project and coordination responsible of software functionality, the tuning of its parameters and delivery of vehicle attributes that largely depend on how the engine performs.
You will collaborate with PO and PO team’s that consist of professional engineers who knows how an engine and a vehicle shall be optimized and how they can test and evaluate each functionality in the control system.
They will use simulation tools, engines and test vehicles for use both on road and in specialized test rooms to find the best use of the available hardware. Some of our testing preformed during expedition trips to hot, cold and/or high-altitude environment places during 2-4 week trips.
You will need a good knowledge of petrol engines design and their combustion control & diagnostics software since you will be expected to address decisions on technical issues.
Responsible for the project’s delivery of functions, optimization, attribute balancing while delivering emission fulfilment and verification.
Plan and lead the work through the whole project incl. leadership of CL-meetings, DRM, Taskforce and other activities
Initiate and follow up on performed activities.
Plan and prioritize the projects internal test objects (vehicles and engines)
Define, update and communicate label split within the task. Initiate and perform data scrutineering for releases to pre series and production and participate in design reviews.
Initiate, plan and lead expedition, testing trips.
Handle functional changes within project.
Participate in FCB/CCB for approval of functional and calibration changes.
Receive and approve/disapprove optimization solutions during the project. Profile
You have a university degree in engineering (bachelor, master’s or phD) and at least 5 years of work experience.
You have good knowledge of combustion and diagnostic engine technology, and experience from software/function development and calibration experience . You are fluent in English and Swedish (spoken and written) and are a master at communicating.
